Importing expenses from your bank or YNAB

Choose shared expenses from a bank's CSV export or your YNAB budget. Only what you choose is kept.

From a bank export

Export your transactions as a CSV file from your bank or budgeting app (a shorter period works best), then tap Import from a bank export in Money and choose the file.

Sovela finds the date, description and amount columns and lists only the money spent. Money coming in, and rows it can’t read, are left out and counted. If something looks wrong, tap Check the columns: choose the columns, whether spending shows as negative or positive, and whether dates are month-first or day-first. Turn on Remember for this bank to skip this next time.

From YNAB

Tap Choose from YNAB and connect your YNAB account. Sovela asks only for read-only access. Choose the plan (budget) in your family’s currency, and see your spending from the last 30, 60 or 90 days. Transfers and money in are left out, and split transactions appear as their parts. Disconnect YNAB whenever you like.

This option appears once YNAB is available in your region.

Choosing

Turn on the items to share. For each, choose a category and the wording the other parent will see, then tap Ask for. Each becomes its own shared expense, split the usual way. An item on the same day for the same amount as one already recorded is marked Looks already added.

Nothing else from your file or your YNAB budget is kept.
