Paying and getting paid
Record payments made anywhere, open your payment app with the amount filled in. Sovela never moves money.
Sovela never moves money. It records payments made wherever you make them, and can open your payment app with the amount filled in.
Paying
On an agreed expense, tap Pay, choose how, and if you like open the app (Venmo, Cash App or PayPal; in Canada, PayPal). Then record the amount and an optional reference. The other parent confirms It arrived or Not received, with a reason.
Zelle and Interac e-Transfer don’t open with a link. Send from your bank’s app, then record it here.
Getting paid
Under How to pay me in the Money menu, add your Venmo username, Cash App $cashtag, PayPal.Me name, Zelle email or phone, or e-Transfer email. Only the other parent sees these, so their app can open with your name and the amount filled in. Clear a field to stop sharing it.
If you received a payment the other parent didn’t record, use Record a payment you received.
Child support
Under Child support, either parent proposes the terms: who pays, the monthly amount, the due day and the starting month (and the plan section if you like). The other parent agrees or declines. Sovela then shows each month’s amount due, what’s confirmed, and the percentage paid, in dollars and percent together.
Record support payments, in-kind support (with an optional value), or an income or job change. The other parent confirms or disputes a payment, and acknowledges the rest. Sovela never counts a shared-expense payment or in-kind support as credit toward a support order.
